Job Description: As a GP Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for our patients, playing a crucial role in delivering excellent customer service and ensuring the smooth operation of the practice.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Greeting patients and visitors warmly and professionally Managing telephone and face-to-face inquiries, booking appointments, and handling cancellations Updating and maintaining patient records using our Emis software system Assisting patients with registration and any necessary paperwork Handling prescription enquiries and other administrative tasks Communicating effectively with medical staff and patients to ensure efficient service delivery Ensuring the reception area is clean, organised, and welcoming Adhering to confidentiality and data protection policies Key Requirements: Previous experience in a receptionist or administrative role, preferably within a healthcare setting Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong organisational abilities with a keen eye for detail Proficiency in using computer systems and basic software applications Ability to work effectively in a fast paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously Compassionate and patient focused attitude Flexibility to work varied shifts, including some evenings and weekends as needed Benefits: NHS Pension Scheme Training and professional development opportunities Supportive and collaborative work environment
