Role Responsibility
Sunrise Childrens Centre offers overnight short breaks for children and young people with disabilities and complex medical health needs from the age of five until their eighteenth birthday.
We are seeking a Childrens Residential Worker to work waking nights for 15 hours per week, on a rolling 4 week rota basis, which may include weekends and Bank holidays (paid at double time). Waking Night hours will be from 9.30 pm to 7.30 am. Night Enhancement pay will be made at Time + 1/3rd for night hours worked between 10 pm and 7 am.
You will be responsible for the night-time care of the young people staying for a short break, with support from a Sleep in member of staff.
You will join our staff team to provide a nurturing and safe environment which will promote the emotional and physical well-being of Children with disabilities within appropriate boundaries. Individuals should be flexible in their approach, be able to work collaboratively and share our commitment to improving outcomes for children.
You will have experience of supporting children with disabilities and possess knowledge of safeguarding and child protection. You must be able to take personal and professional responsibility for your actions and performance. In return, you will be provided with an ongoing program of specialist training and be provided with regular supervision to enable you to confidently progress in your career.
To succeed in this role, we are looking for someone who is:
1. Able to follow care plans whilst keeping them updated
2. Able to support and assist children and young people with their personal care needs
3. Able to create factual reports
4. Willing to undertake training and put theory into practice
5. Able to communicate in an open and honest manner
6. Has awareness of the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015
7. Holds a Diploma level 3 or 4 in Residential Childcare, or equivalent, or be willing to work towards this.
