Role Purpose
Responsible for identifying and matching children in need of adoptive or fostering placements with suitable families, leading the matching, introduction, and placement process.
Key Duties
Respond promptly to allocated work and undertake family finding via internal and external resources.
Liaise with local authorities, adoption/fostering agencies, legal services, and children’s social workers to secure placements.
Contribute to children’s Care Plans, support plans, matching reports, and court statements.
Chair and facilitate relevant meetings (e.g., family finding evaluations, placement planning).
Participate in the team’s duty system, provide advice, and process referrals.
Maintain accurate case records in line with regulations and standards.
Comply with adoption/fostering legislation, service standards, and timescales.
Support service development, policy work, and ongoing professional development.
Promote effective communication, confidentiality, anti-discriminatory practice, and safe working environments.
Supervision
Reports to the Team Manager/Senior Practitioner; plans own workload to meet objectives.
Special Conditions
Subject to DBS/ISA checks.
Exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act.
