Role Summary
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the Financial Controller role offers an exciting opportunity to join the senior management team of this fast-growing internationally focused business. Besides responsibilities for management accounts, corporate reporting and financial analysis, the role also offers the opportunity to manage a small team and take on responsibilities for a range of important operational activities. There are excellent career opportunities, including progression to Finance Director.
What you’ll be doing
1. Management of all financial matters across the global Gibb business.
2. Overseeing financial and reporting cycle of the business and ensuring timelines are adhered to, including month end close, internal reporting, audit, statutory accounts.
3. Producing divisional management accounts monitoring business performance, reporting key variances and KPIs.
4. Working closely with other areas of the business, including sales operations, credit control, procurement, and KYC.
5. Supporting management with the preparation of budget and financial forecasts, contributing to the broader business plan.
6. Lead on year end audit for the Gibb business, reporting up to Clarkson Port Services (immediate parent) and Group Finance as required.
7. Manage the integration of new acquisitions as required, ensuring the Group control environment is embedded within new business acquisitions.
8. Responsibility for managing the day to day tax affairs of the Gibb business, reporting into immediate parent and Group tax as required on all tax matters.
9. Business partnering with senior leadership team to provide financial input on ad-hoc projects.
10. Supporting continuous improvement, documentation, and development of internal systems.
11. Implementing and integrating financial systems with global business partners and new ventures.
12. Reporting on working capital globally including inventory management.
13. Cashflow forecasting.
14. Management of a financial team.
15. Additional / ad hoc duties as required to meet the needs of the business.

Other requirements
22. Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA or equivalent)
23. Strong academic track record, ideally with a 2:1 or above degree
24. Experience within an international business
25. Experience managing a team preferable but not essential
26. A keen interest in the global economy
27. Retail and distribution background desirable
28. Good IT skills, experience with accounting systems advantageous
29. Experience of working with ERP system
