Technician
Job Type: Full-time, permanent
Location: Gateshead (Occasional UK & International travel)The Technician is responsible for delivering complex technical assembly and testing services, supporting electronic and electrical systems across design, production and in‑service support activities. The role may involve direct interaction with customers, on‑site work with partner organisations, and occasional UK or international travel.
Key Responsibilities
Perform advanced assembly of products in line with established specifications and engineering instructions.
Carry out high‑precision calibration and adjustments using specialised test instruments.
Assemble equipment according to engineering drawings and maintain adherence to technical standards.
Conduct product performance testing and accurately record test results.
Work directly with customers to meet product and service expectations.
Support engineering teams by contributing to the development of assembly and testing procedures.
Clean components and equipment according to established procedures.Skills & Attributes
Strong technical ability with the capacity to meet engineering and regulatory standards.
Effective communication skills and the ability to produce structured documentation.
Competent in planning tasks and managing workload.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to interpret and work with Microsoft Project.Qualifications & Experience
A strong technical engineering knowledge base is essential, with a focus on electronics
Engineering qualification (Level 3 or higher) in a relevant discipline.
More than two years of experience in a related role.Additional Requirements
Full UK driving licence.
Ability to travel within the UK or internationally as required.
Ability to obtain UK Security Clearance (SC) and potentially higher clearances if needed
