Job Overview
We are currently seeking a talented and motivated Carpenter to join our team. This role is ideal for a professional who is confident in constructing, installing, and repairing timber structures and fittings, with a keen eye for precision and detail. Whether working independently or as part of a team, the successful candidate will play a vital role in delivering exceptional workmanship across a range of residential and commercial projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Construct, install, and repair timber structures including frameworks, flooring, cabinetry, and bespoke fittings.
* Carry out all joinery work to a high standard, ensuring strength, durability, and finish.
* Safely and efficiently operate personal power and hand tools to complete tasks.
* Accurately measure, cut, and shape materials according to specifications and plans.
* Ensure all work is plumb, level, and square to guarantee structural integrity.
* Support additional site activities including demolition, measuring, and preparing future works.
* Take part in mentoring apprentices and junior staff, contributing to the growth of the next generation of tradespeople.
* Perform painting and finishing work to complete the visual appeal of projects.
* Collaborate effectively with other trades on-site to ensure smooth coordination.
* Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment in line with health and safety regulations.
What We're Looking For
* Proven experience as a Carpenter with a portfolio of quality work.
* Strong knowledge of carpentry and joinery techniques.
* Confidence in using a variety of hand and power tools safely (must have own tools).
* Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical documents.
* Physically fit with the capability to perform manual tasks and heavy lifting.
* Excellent attention to detail, with strong problem-solving skills.
* Positive attitude and strong communication skills – a true team player.
* A valid UK driving licence is essential for travel between job sites.
