Overview
We are currently recruiting for a Band 6 Charge Nurse to help maintain our high standard of care and flow of patients through a busy minor injuries unit.
Responsibilities
* Co‑ordinate the Minor Injuries/GP unit during operational hours, acting as point of contact for department staff.
* Work alongside Emergency Nurse Practitioners, health‑care support workers and medical staff to aid patient flow in a busy, dynamic clinic environment.
* Undertake initial assessments for patients streamed via the minor injury/GP pathway, including imaging, analgesia and initial first aid, with clear prioritisation and escalation of concerns.
* Promote good communication within a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe and effective care.
* Support innovative and flexible responses to changing service demands, meeting the needs of patients, carers, families and staff.
* Assist with extended skills such as assessment of minor injuries, requesting imaging and supporting treatment plans; support the Emergency Department’s KPI’s and act as a point of contact for department staff.
