We have grown from a small team to a diverse and multifaceted group of over thirty professionals striving to deliver the best experience possible for our students.
The Senior Study Mentor (Mental Health) is a key role within SC&MHAS, responsible for the day-to-day work of the Study Mentors (Mental Health) Team. You will line manage the existing team of study mentors and lead the development of the study mentoring provision within SC&MHAS.
You will join a strong team of senior clinicians at the service: three Senior Student Counsellors, a Senior Mental Health Advisor, and a Senior Mental Health Intervention Officer, and build upon close relationships with the Disability Advice Service.
* Line management supervision of Student Study Mentors, including supporting their development.
* Managing and monitoring the clinical workflow of the service, as well as evaluating and improving service delivery to ensure it is responsive, ethical, and efficient.
* Offering effective study mentoring to individual students.
* Providing and developing workshops and training on topics related to mental health, disability, and neurodivergence.
* Containing and managing risk and safeguarding issues as necessary, including escalation and covering duty as necessary.
* Being an appropriately qualified, registered, and experienced Mental Health professional with line management experience.
* Having a commitment to and belief in supporting the mental health of students so they can be successful at university.
* Being a flexible and collaborative clinician with a commitment to high-quality provision and staff well-being.
* Ability to manage and contain risk and support those working with clients in crisis.
* Being part of a senior team leading on change and continual growth of the service.
* Having the opportunity to continue your career at a world-leading institution.
* Offering a sector-leading salary and remuneration package (including 38 days off a year).
* Providing development opportunities through excellent in-house management and leadership training, a CPD budget, supervision, and reflective spaces.
