Our Langley Mill facility in Nottingham powers our production of secure, steel modular buildings and durable anti-vandal units that meet our customers' unique needs.

Who We’re Looking For:

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee and optimise the end-to-end manufacturing and delivery of steel anti-vandal modular buildings and units. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong manufacturing expertise, operational planning capability, and a customer-focused mindset.

You will play a key role in ensuring production efficiency, maintaining high quality standards, and delivering projects on time and within budget, while continuously improving processes across the business.

About The Role

Key Responsibilities:

* Operations Management
* Review all incoming client orders to identify specifications, special requirements, and ensure full operational understanding.
* Oversee production planning, ensuring schedules are accurate, up to date, and aligned with delivery commitments.
* Work closely with the Production Manager to ensure efficient factory operations and appropriate staffing levels.
* Ensure all production documentation, materials, subcontract services, and resources are in place to meet demand.
* Monitor production performance through weekly Work in Progress (WIP) reviews and monthly valuations.

Project Delivery & Customer Focus

* Coordinate with internal teams to ensure profitable delivery and installation of modular units.
* Manage and monitor all post-installation faults and snagging, ensuring timely resolution and high customer satisfaction.
* Maintain clear, consistent communication with stakeholders to ensure expectations are met or exceeded.



Quality, Health & Safety

* Support SHEQ to ensure all quality control procedures are implemented and conduct regular spot checks.
* Support the SHEQ function in driving continuous improvement in health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
* Support SHEQ to promote a strong safety culture and ensure all required training is completed and adhered to.



Team Leadership & Communication

* Lead, motivate, and develop the production and operational teams to achieve high performance.
* Ensure clear daily communication across teams regarding plans, priorities, and updates.
* Work collaboratively with HR on employee relations, including performance management, absence management, and disciplinary processes.



Commercial & Operational Performance

* Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality.
* Support budgeting, forecasting, and operational strategy in line with business goals.
* Continuous Improvement & Development
* Evaluate and improve business processes to increase productivity and operational effectiveness.
* Contribute to the development of new products and innovations within the modular building range.
* Ensure operational strategies are aligned with wider company objectives.

Essential Criteria:

* Proven experience in an operations or production management role within a manufacturing environment
* Strong organisational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
* Demonstrated leadership ability with experience managing teams in a fast-paced environment.
* Commercial awareness with a focus on cost control and efficiency improvements.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Strong commitment to quality, health & safety, and continuous improvement.

Desired Criteria:

* Experience in modular construction, steel fabrication, or similar industries

Working Hours:

* Monday to Thursday: 08:30 – 17:00
* Friday: 08:30 – 16:00
