We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Operations Manager to join high end residential building company and oversee the smooth delivery of multiple construction projects.
The ideal candidate will excel at managing people, building strong client relationships, and ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standard.
The role is primarily remote/WFH, with the expectation of visiting each project site at least once a week to meet foremen, assess progress, provide support and liaise with clients regarding progress, budget and material choices. Key Responsibilities
• Oversee the day-to-day operations of multiple construction projects simultaneously.
• Manage and support the foreman assigned to each project, providing direction, troubleshooting, and ensuring consistent quality across all sites.
• Build strong working relationships with clients, acting as a key point of contact throughout the project lifecycle.
• Assist clients and foremen in decision-making around materials, finishes, and specification changes.
• Liaise with suppliers to source materials, negotiate pricing where appropriate, and monitor delivery schedules with foremen.
• Oversee and approve orders, ensuring correct quantities, cost control, and timely availability to keep projects running smoothly.
• Monitor project schedules and budgets, identifying risks or delays early and implementing corrective actions.
• Working closely with foremen to produce monthly project valuations for client approval and accounts team to raise invoices accordingly.
• Support continuous improvement across operations and contribute to the development of processes that enhance efficiency and quality.
Skills & Experience Required
• Proven experience in operations, project management, or site management within the construction or building industry.
• Strong leadership and people-management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with confidence in client-facing situations.
• Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and supply chains.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and stakeholders simultaneously.
• Solid organisational and problem-solving skills, with a proactive and solution-focused approach.
• Competence in Excel spreadsheets and general IT tools.
The position is being offered on a temp to perm basis after a 6 month trial period.
In the intial 6 months you would be required to use your own vehicle for visiting sites, upon completion of 6 month trial then a company car would be offered.
