Overview
We are seeking skilled and reliable Fire Stopper Engineers to join our team. The successful candidates will be responsible for installing and maintaining passive fire protection systems in line with current fire safety regulations and company standards. This role involves working across a range of construction and refurbishment projects to ensure buildings are fully compliant with fire safety requirements. This role requires a strong understanding of building materials and construction methods, as well as the ability to work with a variety of tools and equipment. The Fire Stopper will play a crucial role in maintaining safety standards and compliance with fire codes.
Responsibilities
* Carry out installation of fire-stopping solutions including penetration seals, linear gap seals, cavity barriers, fire doors, and other passive fire protection systems.
* Read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and fire-stopping details.
* Ensure all works are completed to the highest standard and in compliance with relevant legislation (e.g., FIRAS, BM TRADA, or other accredited schemes).
* Accurately complete records, reports, and documentation of all works undertaken.
* Conduct inspections and remedial works as required.
* Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles in good working order.
* Work collaboratively with site supervisors, project managers, and other trades to ensure smooth project delivery.
* Adhere strictly to health and safety procedures and company policies at all times.
Requirements
* Previous experience working as a Fire Stopper Engineer or in passive fire protection (essential).
* Knowledge of fire-stopping systems, materials, and installation methods.
* Experience working under FIRAS, BM TRADA, or equivalent accreditation schemes (desirable).
* Experience with working recording software (e.g. Onetrace, Hilti or equivalent)
* Ability to work from technical drawings and specifications.
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
* Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team and independently.
* Full UK driving licence (essential).
* NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Passive Fire Protection / Fire Stopping (or equivalent).
* CSCS Card.
* Health & Safety training (e.g., SSSTS, SMSTS, or equivalent).
* FIRAS or BM TRADA accreditation.
* Knowledge on CDM Software (SimPro)
