HGV Class 1 Drivers
Location: Corby
Pay: £18.00 Days / £19.50 Nights / £21 Sat / £22 Sun
The Role
Average shift length: 1012 hours
7-day operation (working week runs Sunday to Saturday )
AM shifts: typically start between 05:0007:00
PM shifts: typically start between 13:0019:00
Delivery area spans:
North: Manchester/Wakefield/Scunthorpe/ Preston Usually night drivers
West: South Wales
South: London (Outer)
Key Responsibilities
Deliveringa mixture of products such as crisps, spices, glass jars and cleaning products
It is the drivers responsibility to ensure to load is strapped securely, depending on the product
Occasionally certain sites will require you to use pump truck to unload
Most sites, no hand balling involved
Safely operate and drive HGV 1 (C+E) vehicles to transport goods to designated locations
Plan routes and schedules to ensure timely deliveries
Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure road worthiness
Adhere to all relevant traffic laws and regulations
Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption
Communicate effectively with dispatchers and logistics team members
Shifts are booked daily with shift confirmation times texted to you the day before
No driving assessment on site, but paperwork to be complete before first shift
Requirements
Valid HGV 1 C+E licence
Up-to-date Tacho Digi Card and an up-to-date DCPC Card
Min 12 months HGV Class 1 C+E experience
Strong understanding of road safety regulations
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
We will accept up to 6 points on your licence, but no DD, TT, DR, CD, IN endorsements.
