Position Summary
The Gymnastics Club Director and Coach is responsible for leading, managing, and developing the gymnastics programme. This includes coaching across a range of levels, supervising staff, maintaining high coaching standards, ensuring compliance with gymnastics policies, and fostering a safe and inclusive environment where every gymnast can thrive.
Key ResponsibilitiesProgramme Leadership
* Plan, implement, and oversee all gymnastics programmes — recreational, squad, and pre-school.
* Develop structured coaching plans that align with high quality gymnastics
* Schedule classes, training sessions, and club events.
* Monitor gymnast progress and provide constructive feedback to athletes and parents.
* Organise and support club competitions, displays, and community events.
Coaching Duties
* Deliver high-quality coaching sessions for a range of age groups and abilities.
* Demonstrate excellent technical knowledge and safe coaching practices.
* Prepare gymnasts for local, regional, and national competitions.
* Promote enjoyment, discipline, and confidence in every session.
* Stay up to date with British Gymnastics coaching methods and CPD opportunities.
Staff & Volunteer Management
* Recruit, train, and support coaching staff, volunteers, and assistant coaches.
* Lead team meetings and ensure effective communication across the coaching team.
* Provide mentorship and guidance to develop staff skills and confidence.
* Organise staff rotas and ensure appropriate supervision ratios are met.
Administration & Compliance
* Manage the day-to-day running of the club, including class registers, memberships, and budgets.
* Ensure compliance with British Gymnastics Club Standards or IGA, safeguarding, and health & safety regulations.
* Maintain accurate records, including incident reports and athlete progress.
* Liaise with parents, the club committee, and external partners.
* Oversee equipment maintenance and ensure the facility remains clean, safe, and well organised.
Safeguarding & Welfare
* Promote a culture of safety and respect throughout the club.
* Act as or work closely with the Club Welfare Officer.
* Ensure all staff and volunteers have up-to-date DBS checks, Safeguarding and Protecting Children, and First Aid qualifications.
Person SpecificationEssential Qualifications
* Minimum of British Gymnastics or IGA Level 2 Coaching qualification (Level 3+ preferred). Australian/New Zealand or USA coaching qualification can still apply
* Current British Gymnastics membership.
* Valid Enhanced DBS check.
* Up-to-date Safeguarding and Protecting Children certificate.
* Current First Aid certificate.
Desirable Qualifications
* Level 3 or higher in a specific gymnastics discipline (Artistic, Rhythmic, tumbling, etc.).
* Experience managing a gymnastics club or coaching team.
* Background in club development or programme coordination.

Pay: £23,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
