A small, family run business based in Dumfries are looking to welcome an experienced Bookkeeper to their team.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong background in accounting software and a keen eye for detail to contribute to the company's success.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and maintain the organisation’s financial records using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero.
* Process accounts payable and receivable transactions.
* Reconcile bank statements and ensure all financial data is correctly recorded.
* Prepare financial reports and summaries for management review.
* Assist with payroll processing and other administrative financial tasks.
* Support month-end and year-end closing procedures.
* Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and internal policies.
* Collaborate with external auditors during audits and provide necessary documentation.
Skills and Experience
* Previous experience as a Bookkeeper or similar financial role.
* Proficiency in accounting software including QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero
* Excellent organisational skills with high attention to detail
* Ability to work independently and meet deadlines effectively
* Good communication skills, both written and verbal
