Due to growth, we are recruiting for a Head of Operations and Supply Chain to join a well-established, family run SME based in Brackley, Northamptonshire. Reporting directly to the Operations Director, you will be responsible for any strategic decisions & tasks in the operations department. This will be running reports, organising operations, supplier management and sourcing. You will be responsible for the operations and procurement team. This role will be 60% Supply chain and 40% operations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
* You will identify and lead key initiatives, strategies and plans that will drive the operational functions forward to enhance the business’ growth
* Leading the Operations team of Warehouse Manager and his 6 Warehouse staff,
* Leading the Purchasing department
* Strategy & Planning across these functions
* Develop and implement plans for improved operational systems, processes and people to unlock efficiency and enable business growth.
* Team Leadership & Management: Motivate, coach and lead your team; cultivate skills and facilitate interrelationships between all the business’ functions whilst maintaining the culture that makes the business a happy place to work.
* Ensure operations meet the requirements for quality management, health and safety, legislation and general duty of care.
* Nurture a culture of continuous improvement.
* Optimise stock levels and purchasing to balance the conflicting challenges of customer demand, cashflow and warehouse capacity.
* Maintain tight control of buying prices.
* Build and maintain effective supplier relationships to maximise profitability and service levels.
* Strategic sourcing of new suppliers to mitigate risk
