The Role
My client is looking to recruit a Night Shift Operator to join their manufacturing team in Reading. This role is key to ensuring the smooth running of production processes during night hours, maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.
You will be responsible for operating machinery, supporting production targets, and contributing to continuous improvement within the manufacturing environment.
The working hours are 10pm-6am, Sunday-Thursday
Key Responsibilities
• Operate and monitor perforating, notching, and levelling machinery
• Maintain high standards of quality and safety throughout production
• Work closely with the team to achieve production targets
• Carry out routine machine inspections and basic maintenance
• Accurately complete production documentation
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the workshop
• Keep work areas clean and organised to minimise risks
• Assist with material movement, stock checks, and general housekeeping
The Candidate
Able to read technical drawings
Competent in using measuring equipment (micrometres, verniers)
Previous experience within a manufacturing, machining, or fabrication environment (advantageous)
Basic mechanical knowledge and familiarity with workshop tools
Must drive and own reliable transport
Forklift licence (desirable)
Good level of physical fitness and manual dexterity
Basic maths skills for measurements and calculations
Experience with welding or tooling (advantageous)
Salary
up to £33,500 plus bonus and an OTE of £40,000
