This managed service provider is a well-established business, known for providing a high level of IT service and support across the Wigan and surrounding areas, and due to growth, they are looking to appoint a Senior IT Engineer. The MSP has an excellent reputation for supporting both primary and secondary schools across Wigan, Liverpool & Sefton and the Managing Director is keen to ensure the right individuals are appointed to ensure this continued success. With their head office in Wigan, this role will be split between time spent on site in schools and at the head office.
Your new role
Reporting directly to the MD, the Senior Engineer will be joining an established team, and you will be responsible for providing a high level of technical IT support across schools in Wigan & Merseyside. This will involve visiting schools on site to provide technical support, also supporting remotely to ensure that the service provision is maintained and working with individual schools around their IT strategy andpleting the relevant work. You will provide IT support for a range of technologies, including hardware, software and bespoke technologies unique to the education sector, ensuring that IT issues are responded to efficiently and that end users are fully supported with all IT issues. In addition, you will be responsible for maintaining technical documentation,municating relevant updates etc to the individual schools and also carrying out any project work for upgrades and implementations.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful in securing this role, you must have significant experience providing IT support, ideally having worked either in the education sector or for another Managed Service Provider. You will have experience dealing with a wide range of technologies, ideally with a knowledge of technologies in the education sector, and you will have a passion for providing a high level of support. Strongmunication and relationship building skills are also required, as you will be working with senior leadership teams across the different sites. Please note that this role is on site 5 days a week, and you will be required to visit the schools on site, therefore you must have a valid UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle. This is an exciting opportunity for an established IT Engineer or Technician to move into a senior role where they will continue to receive support and training.
