As an autonomous practitioner, providing comprehensive care packages using advanced clinical skills and decision-making abilities to assess, diagnose, and treat patients with minor injuries and illnesses. Working with other practitioners to define and improve standards of care and practice. Additionally, liaising with senior staff to manage and coordinate the Urgent Treatment Centre, including managing staff and consumables.
Main duties of the job
1. Ensures that all staff including temporary staff and students in the unit are aware of emergency procedures to follow.
2. Leads others in the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of care of patients in the unit in accordance with Trust ENP Guidelines and departmental protocols prior to discharge home or transfer of the patient to another hospital.
3. Uses advanced assessment skills to enable differential diagnosis of patient's conditions.
4. Is a prescriber or is willing to undertake the non-medical prescribing course to enable prescribing for adults and paediatrics within scope for minor injuries and illnesses.
5. Prescribes medications and administers treatments within scope, adhering to clinical guidelines and protocols.
6. Offers advice on preventive measures, self-management strategies, and follow-up care to promote continuity of care beyond the urgent treatment center setting.
7. Works collaboratively with other healthcare professionals within the urgent treatment center, including doctors, nurses, and allied health professionals, to ensure seamless delivery of care.
8. Ensures a safe environment for patients, relatives, carers, and staff, in accordance with Risk Management policies and procedures.
9. Provides professional leadership and supervision within own discipline and facilitates professional leadership for other disciplines.

Qualifications and / or professional registration
* Current registration with the relevant regulatory body (e.g., NMC for nurses, HCPC for allied health professionals)
* Evidence of relevant postgraduate courses / CPD and reflective practice relevant to clinical speciality
* Post Registration qualification or training to masters level or equivalent and experience
* Evidence of a range of clinical competencies appropriate for the role

* Significant experience in an autonomous practice role
