About the Role As a Procurement Assistant, you will support the delivery of compliant, effective procurement activity in line with government regulations and public-sector best practice. Working across assigned categories, you'll assist with end-to-end sourcing processes, maintain accurate documentation, and help to implement contracts that meet statutory requirements and organisational standards. This role is central to ensuring fair competition, robust supplier management and strong value-for-money outcomes-helping stakeholders navigate public-sector procurement rules with clarity and confidence. Key Responsibilities Support the development and implementation of government-aligned category strategies Assist in delivering regulated sourcing activities, including mini-competitions, frameworks, DPS solutions and compliant tender documentation Prepare, check, and maintain contract documents in line with public procurement legislation Support supplier negotiations, manage routine supplier engagement, and help resolve performance issues Monitor contract performance, KPIs, and compliance requirements Ensure processes follow public sector procurement regulations (e.g., transparency, audit trails, equal treatment, and competition rules) Contribute to marketing, communications, and stakeholder engagement plans Promote organisational values, including sustainability, ethical practice, and ESG commitments Help to share knowledge, guidance and best practice across teams and functions What We're Looking For An individual who is: Positive, proactive, and eager to learn A clear and confident communicator with strong stakeholder engagement skills Highly organised, analytical, and attentive to detail Comfortable working in environments with structured rules, compliance processes, and multiple stakeholders Qualifications & Experience CIPS Level 4, relevant degree, or equivalent public-sector procurement experience Experience supporting regulated or large-scale procurement activities Strong Excel skills (e.g., Pivot Tables, data analysis; VBA beneficial) Familiarity with e-tendering portals and public-sector procurement platforms Strong stakeholder engagement and presentation skills Full driving licence desirable Why Apply?
