Job Title: Azure Senior Architect
Description:
We are seeking a dynamic technology leader to join our Azure Platform team as a Senior Azure Data Modernisation Architect. This role is pivotal in building, scaling, and delivering Azure Data Modernisation capabilities across EMEA, supporting both internal growth and strategic customer engagements. The architect will be responsible for modernising legacy data platforms into cloud‑native, governed, and AI‑ready data estates on Microsoft Azure, enabling advanced analytics, real‑time insights, and Generative AI use cases. The role combines practice leadership, deep technical expertise, pre‑sales ownership, and delivery governance. This position requires close collaboration with sales, delivery, Microsoft, and cross‑practice teams and may require up to 50%
travel across EMEA.
Responsibilities:
Azure Platform Strategy and Development: In this role, you will
· Lead the development of Azure Data Modernisation offerings aligned to enterprise data, analytics and AI transformation.
· Define end‑to‑end data modernisation use cases, including data platform assessments, migration from legacy data warehouses, lakehouse adoption, real‑time analytics, and AI enablement.
· Establish reference architectures, accelerators, patterns, and playbooks aligned to Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework and Data & AI best practices.
· Drive innovation and thought leadership in AI‑ready data architectures, including medallion architecture, data mesh, event‑driven data platforms, and unified/real-time analytics.
1. Technical Expertise:
· Act as a subject matter expert across Azure Data & AI services, staying current with Microsoft’s evolving roadmap.
· Guide teams on best practices for scalable, secure, and governed data platforms.
· Influence platform selection
decisions across Microsoft Fabric, Azure Databricks, Synapse, and Azure-native services based on customer maturity and use case.
2. Go-to-market Strategy:
· Own and evolve the EMEA go‑to‑market strategy for Azure Data Modernisation capabilities.
· Partner with Sales leadership to prioritize offerings, vertical plays, and packaged solutions
3. Innovation and Best Practices:
· Drive adoption of modern data engineering, analytics engineering, DataOps, and MLOps practices.
· Ensure offerings remain aligned to industry standards, regulatory requirements, and Microsoft Partner expectations.
Azure Data Modernisation Sales & Solutioning:
In this role, you will partner with TGS Sales team to engage customers, understand business and data challenges and define data modernisation and AI transformation roadmaps. You will also lead technical discovery workshops and executive‑level conversations.
1. Solution Oversight & Ownership:
· Own solution architecture and technical accountability during the pre‑sales lifecycle.
· Ensure alignment of solutions with customer goals, industry standards, and delivery feasibility.
2. Solutioning:
· Identify, scope, and design data modernisation and AI solutions, including architecture, delivery approach, and effort estimates.
· Provide thought leadership to continuously improve service capabilities and delivery outcomes
3. Sales Collaboration:
· You will partner with TEKsystems Sales team to provide guidance on GTM strategy and customer communications, proposals for data-modernisation offerings.
Azure Platform Service Delivery
In this role, you will work closely and lead TEKsystems delivery teams to ensure customer engagements are delivered seamlessly achieving intended business value. You will provide technical direction as required to delivery teams on customer engagement.
1. Technical Governance & Oversight:
· As an Azure Sr Architect, you will be responsible for providing oversight to delivery teams and will play crucial role in managing customer expectations and technical escalations if any.
· Govern delivery quality, ensuring platforms are secure, scalable, compliant, and AI‑ready.
· Provide executive‑level guidance on data platform modernisation, analytics transformation, and AI enablement
2. Delivery Enablement:
· As an Azure Sr Architect, you will establish an operating model for enterprise customers with the combination of standard processes, best practices, and tools to deliver end-to-end applications and infrastructure solutions safely and at velocity
· Define operating models for enterprise data platforms including:
o Standardised ingestion and transformation patterns
o DevOps/MLOps frameworks
o Data‑quality and observability standards
o Governance and lineage frameworks using Purview
o High‑availability and disaster‑recovery architectures
· Lead and evangelise cloud‑native data‑modernisation initiatives leveraging Azure Databricks, Fabric, Synapse, and Azure ML.
Team Leadership 1. Leadership & Mentoring:
· As an Azure Sr Architect, you will be responsible to lead, mentor, and develop data architects, data engineers, and analytics engineers across EMEA
· Support career growth and capability maturity within the Data & AI practice

Qualifications
1. Education:
· Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced degrees preferred.
2. Professional Experience:
15+ years of Experience in data, analytics, and cloud architecture.
· 5+ years leading Azure data‑modernisation or analytics‑platform initiatives.
· Proven leadership Experience managing cross‑functional data teams.
· Proven Experience in IT consulting or professional services.
· Experience building or scaling practice-level capabilities (offerings, IP, GTM)
3. Azure Data Platform and Technology Experience:
Deep hands‑on and architectural Experience with:
· Microsoft Fabric (OneLake, Data Engineering, Data Warehouse, Real‑Time Analytics, Power BI).
· Azure Databricks (Delta Lake, Spark, Unity Catalog, MLflow).
· Azure Synapse Analytics (Dedicated & Serverless SQL)
· Data ingestion (ADF, Synapse Pipelines, Databricks Workflows).
· Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2
· Strong understanding of Lakehouse architecture, medallion patterns, batch and streaming data processing AI & Advanced Analytics Experience:
· Designing AI‑ready enterprise data platforms.
· Experience with: Machine Learning pipelines and MLOps
o Generative AI and Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG)
Vector search and unstructured data analytics
o Feature stores and model governance
· Familiarity with Azure OpenAI, Azure AI services, and responsible AI principles. Data Governance, Security & Operations
· Expertise in Microsoft Purview for data cataloging, lineage, and governance.
· Strong understanding of data security, privacy, and regulatory compliance.
· Experience implementing DataOps, monitoring, and observability for data platforms.
Others:
· Experience with AI/ML platforms (Azure ML, Databricks ML).
· Scripting Experience (Python,PySpark, SQL).
· Understanding of real‑time data (Event Hubs, Kafka, Message brokers).
· In-depth knowledge of Azure Services, including Docker, Kubernetes, Cloud Storage and Networking
· Strong expertise in Continuous Frameworks like Monitoring, Logging, and Security
· Experience with Infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Azure ARM
· Strong understanding of IT service management (ITSM) frameworks like ITIL
· Experience with DevOps tools and deployment patterns
· Strong understanding of High Availability and Multi Region Architectures
· Deep understanding of Agile methodology

7. Certifications: Preferred

· Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate (DP‑203)
· Microsoft Certified: Fabric Analytics Engineer (DP‑600) or Fabric Data Engineer (DP‑700)
· Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
· Databricks Data Engineer Professional
· AI certifications (AI‑102, AI‑900) are a strong plus.
