About the Role
Our client, a respected name in the power generation and plant machinery industry, is seeking a skilled Generator Service Engineer to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer who enjoys working both in the field and workshop, providing hands-on technical support to a loyal customer base.
The successful Generator Service Engineer will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and inspecting a range of generator machinery across the region, ensuring equipment remains in peak operating condition.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out scheduled maintenance, repairs, and inspections on a range of generator machinery.
* Diagnose and resolve both mechanical and electrical faults effectively.
* Service and repair associated equipment on customer sites and in the workshop.
* Deliver a high standard of technical support and customer service.
* Accurately complete service reports, timesheets, and documentation.
* Ensure all work is performed in accordance with company procedures and health & safety regulations.
* Represent the company professionally, maintaining positive relationships with customers and colleagues.
* Work independently or as part of a team to achieve service targets.
Skills & Experience Required
* Electrically and mechanically qualified with strong diagnostic abilities.
* Minimum of 5 years’ experience working as a Generator Service Engineer.
* Knowledge of engines, alternators, control panels, and wiring diagrams.
* Full, clean driving licence.
* Competent with Microsoft Office and service reporting systems.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-focused approach.
* Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to manage a varied workload.
