Overview
The Warwick Mathematics Institute invites applications for the post of Warwick Zeeman Lecturer (WZL), to start in September 2026. We have two positions available, open to all areas of pure and applied mathematics.
WZLs are temporary appointments for a fixed term of three years. They offer the opportunity to join an excellent mathematics department, with plenty of time to pursue independent research while gaining the experience in lecturing and administration that will strengthen any future application for a permanent academic position.
About You
All applicants should hold a PhD and have already demonstrated excellence in research and an ability to teach effectively. We aim to appoint people to these two posts who can make a strong contribution to both our research and our teaching, and who will make the most of the opportunities provided by our lively and vibrant departmental culture. In the past, many WZLs have extended the term of their appointment by combining this post with a Leverhulme Early Career Fellowship and this gives a good indication of the kind of career stage and level of independence we expect for this position.
To streamline our hiring processes, we can only accept applications submitted via our official careers webpage, warwick-careers.tal.net.
