About the Role We are looking for a food- and people-passionate Butcher to join our friendly Eagles team. As a Butcher, you will play a key role in ensuring the highest standards of food safety, quality, and presentation, while building strong relationships with our customers and supporting the smooth running of the butchery department. What You Will Be Doing In this role, you will be responsible for delivering excellent customer service while maintaining exceptional food safety and quality standards. Your key responsibilities will include: Providing friendly, knowledgeable, and confident customer service Responding to customer inquiries and offering expert advice on meat cuts, cooking methods, and safe storage practices Completing start- and end-of-day checks, including accurate temperature recordings Following all legally required training and procedures, including Food Safety, Allergens, and Health & Safety Cutting, boning, weighing, packaging, and pricing meats (full training provided) Processing customer orders and assisting customers in locating products Recognising customer needs and recommending suitable products to drive sales Packaging and storing meat correctly to ensure freshness and safety Maintaining a clean, organised, and hygienic workspace in line with sanitation and food safety regulations Receiving, unpacking, and arranging deliveries while ensuring correct stock rotation Operating the butchery serve-over counter, scales, and restocking displays Handling customer complaints professionally and resolving issues effectively Supporting weekly ordering when the Butchery Manager is away Playing an integral role within the team, bringing energy, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude to the workplace Please note: This is a non-exhaustive list of duties, and you may be required to carry out additional tasks to meet the needs of the department and the business.
