As a Trainer for staff working within Food manufacturing, you’ll deliver a variety of programmes for your employer which will benefit both the company and its employees.
Since the industry is highly legislated, there is an ongoing need to ensure that staff and agency workers are equipped with induction programmes covering food safety, health and safety, and HACCP awareness training.
The role of a trainer typically requires specialization in a particular area, but the following responsibilities are common:
1. Organising and delivering induction sessions for new employees
2. Arranging on-the-job training for employees
3. Resourcing staff for these roles when not training
4. Developing employee training and development plans aligned with company strategy
5. Assessing and evaluating training benefits to the company
6. Providing follow-up after training sessions
7. Ensuring training programmes are relevant, up-to-date, and cost-effective
8. Producing materials for in-house courses and programmes
9. Liaising with other departments to understand their training needs
10. Updating programmes to meet best practices and legislative changes
11. Researching and implementing new training technologies and methodologies
You should have specialist knowledge in food safety areas, along with the qualifications to design and deliver effective training programmes.
Excellent people skills and the ability to present ideas clearly to training managers are essential.
Strong time management skills are required to ensure training is delivered within set timeframes while remaining effective.
Your expertise should be comprehensive, as trainees will ask questions during your sessions.
Qualifications (Desirable):
* Train the Trainer Certificate
* Food Safety Level 3 Qualification
* Knowledge of HACCP and NEBOSH
