What's involved with this role: Job Title: Environmental Services Assistant Reference: 000A 1727 / 1 Salary: £12.60 per hour PAYE Hours: 37.5 Role length: 1 month Job type: On site Location: Sheffield Contract Type: Temporary The role : As an Environmental Services Assistant, you will support the Environmental Services team by responding to a range of environmental issues such as illegal dumping, verminous or filthy premises, and general clearance and disinfection tasks. You will also assist with drainage investigations and the safe disposal of contaminated or condemned items. Key Responsibilities: Respond to fly tipping, contaminated sites and animal carcass reports Carry out cleaning, clearance and disinfection duties as directed Assist with drainage investigations and remedial works Handle basic administrative tasks such as record keeping and job cards Carry out daily vehicle checks and operate council vehicles Work safely and comply with health & safety procedures Support other officers and services as required What the client is looking for: Basic literacy and numeracy Active DBS Understanding of health & safety and safe working practices Ability to work independently and within a team Capable of heavy lifting and working in unpleasant conditions Good communication and customer service skills Full driving licence Desirable: • Experience in a similar environmental or manual role • Knowledge of relevant council procedures and local authority operations How to Apply: Submit your CV and cover letter If you do not hear from us within three working days, unfortunately your application has not been shortlisted on this occasion.
