Specialist Clinical Physiologist – Sleep And Respiratory

Contract Type: Permanent


Salary: £Competitive per annum, plus Bupa Benefits


Work Hours: Full‑Time, 37.50 hours per week

About the Cromwell Hospital
The Cromwell Hospital is a major international private hospital in West London that receives both UK and international patients. We are committed to providing the highest quality healthcare outpatient and inpatient service care. The hospital has 180 beds and 4 suites, theatres, medical and surgical wards, cardiac centre, CDU, level 2 and 3 full intensive care facilities, paediatrics, outpatient, pharmacy, diagnostic services, physiotherapy, a dedicated day surgery unit, and a new cath lab.

Our sleep service offers high quality, extensive sleep investigations, led by expert physiologists who are supported by consultants in sleep medicine. This enables accurate, efficient, and excellent care for all patients. We offer a wide variety of sleep investigations and provide tailored treatments for conditions such as obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA) and snoring, all primary sleep disorders, and insomnia. We work with a multidisciplinary team to support patients throughout their sleep journey.


You’ll help us make health happen by:

* Lung Function Tests with Reversibility
* Skin prick allergy testing
* 6MWT
* Respiratory Polygraphies (set-up, analysis and reporting)
* Polysomnography (set up, analysis and reporting)
* Initiation, support and troubleshooting of ventilation (CPAP/NIV)
* Respiratory Muscle Strength Assessment (Desirable)
* Exercise Induced Bronchial Provocation (Desirable)
* Cardiopulmonary Exercise Testing (Desirable)
* Bronchial Provocation Studies (Mannitol and Methacholine) (Desirable)
* Hyperventilation and Dysfunctional breathing (HPVT) (Desirable)
* Fitness‑to‑Fly assessments (HCT) (Desirable)


Key skills needed for this role:

* Competency in an array of conventional Lung Function tests
* High level of technical and operational knowledge within a Lung Laboratory
* Ability to analyse and interpret respiratory polygraphy
* Interest in working with paediatric patients


Qualifications

* BSc Degree in Clinical Physiology / Healthcare Science (essential)
* ARTP Membership / ARTP Practitioner / RCCP Register (desirable)
