Nisbets Limited are currently recruiting for a Purchase Ledger Assistant to join our Finance Purchase Ledger team and play a key role in maintaining ledger accuracy and supporting the smooth running of the accounts payable function.
This role will be based in Avonmouth, with flexibility to work from home as part of a hybrid working pattern following a period of training.
The successful candidate will be responsible for processing invoices, managing supplier accounts, and assisting with payment runs to ensure timely and accurate financial operations. This is a highly collaborative role, working closely with colleagues across Finance and other departments to resolve queries and maintain compliance.
You will contribute to month‑end processes, support reconciliations, and help maintain robust systems and procedures. This is an exciting opportunity for a detail‑oriented and proactive individual with experience in purchase ledger operations.
Key Accountabilities
* Monitor and register incoming invoices for UK and European entities, ensuring accuracy.
* Resolve invoice queries efficiently.
* Manage supplier accounts, including statement reconciliations.
* Assist with monthly reconciliation and month‑end close of the Accounts Payable ledger.
* Generate manual and system payments.
* Carry out ad‑hoc duties to support the smooth running of the ledger and accounts function.
Capabilities, Skills and Experience Required
* Demonstrable experience working in a Purchase Ledger function (essential).
* Good level of computer literacy, especially Microsoft Word & Excel.
* GCSE Maths & English.
* Strong communication skills.
* A collaborative team player.
