Wirral Child & Young Person Mental Health Service (CYPMHS, previously CAMHS) is a therapy‑based service offering support to children and young people with mild to severe mental health difficulties and their families. We work in close alignment with the Local Authority, education and the voluntary sector, aiming to ensure that children receive the right support, from the right service at the right time.
We are a friendly, supportive and committed team offering opportunities for staff to develop skills to improve service provision and the experience of young people accessing the service.

Salary: £38,682 to £46,580 per annum pro rata
Location: The Birch Centre, Derby Road, Birkenhead CH42 0LQ

Job responsibilities
* The successful applicant will be an experienced clinician who will work closely with CYPMHS leads, eating disorder specialists and members of the core CYPMHS team to provide assessment and intervention within a multi‑disciplinary setting.
* Contribute to developing and driving the CYPMHS Wirral 0‑18 service forward.
* Engage in professional practice in line with the Trusts values and evidence‑based approaches.
* Follow Trust guidance on safeguarding, care planning and inter‑agency collaboration as part of the clinical team.
Person specification
Essential
* Core profession (Social Work, Nurse, Allied Health Professional) with professional registration with a recognised body (HCPC, NMC, Social Work England).
* Nationally recognised post‑qualification CPD related to the core profession.
* Significant post‑qualification experience in CYPMHS or child mental health settings; demonstrated experience with evidence‑based interventions.
* Ability to undertake formal and informal mental health assessments and risk assessments; experience with risk management planning.
* IT skills including databases, Microsoft Office and clinical systems.
* Access to transport for work purposes.
Desirable
* Therapeutic training to intermediate/diploma level.
* Experience in inter‑agency working and in writing, implementing and evaluating Care/Treatment Plans.
* Experience of supervising colleagues or students.
* Experience of NHS community CYPMHS settings.
