Job Title: Cost Manager / Senior Cost Manager

Overview:
We’re working with a leading consultancy that’s actively seeking a talented Cost Manager or Senior Cost Manager to join their growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-profile, design-led developments across sectors such as commercial offices, mixed-use, residential, and life sciences. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for cost consultancy, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to add value at every stage of the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Deliver end-to-end cost management services from feasibility to final account.
2. Prepare cost plans, estimates, and procurement strategies tailored to client needs.
3. Lead or support tendering processes including preparation of bills of quantities and contract documentation.
4. Manage contract administration, valuations, and change control processes.
5. Liaise confidently with clients, consultants, and contractors, representing the client’s best interests at all times.
6. Mentor junior staff and contribute to team development and knowledge sharing.
7. Participate in business development, including proposal writing and client presentations (for Senior Cost Manager level).
Required Experience & Skills:
1. Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
2. Chartered status (MRICS) preferred or working towards it (for Cost Manager level).
3. Proven consultancy experience across pre- and post-contract phases.
4. Solid understanding of procurement routes and cost management best practices.
5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
6. Commercially astute with strong attention to detail.
7. Confident in managing clients and stakeholders in a proactive and professional manner.
