Job summary

An exciting opportunity to join our 0-19 (25) Integrated specialist Public Health Nursing (IPHN) team as a public health nurse.

The role involves supporting our specialist school nurses and health visitors in supporting all aged children across Hull.

The public health nurse works directly with young people, parents, carers and families to promote public health and protect by delivering the Healthy Child Programme under the delegation of the health visitor or school nurse (SCPHN). They offer development reviews to younger children and regular support to children and young people in school and provide PHSE sessions. It may also involve immunisating 0-5 year olds in the home address or clinics.

This is an all year round role.

The role is based in Hull, We have 3 bases around the city and the role covers city wide.

Main duties of the job

Responsible for the effective delivery of care packages to an identified caseload of children and young people, their families and carers, as delegated by the Integrated Specialist Public Health Nurse ( 5-19)

There will be a requirement to provide a service between 8.00 am - 6.00 pm over a 5-day Monday - Friday period, to meet the needs of Children and Young People and service delivery.

Maintain, as part of continual professional development, up to date clinical knowledge/skills in public health nursing, using information to effect change in practice and ensuring the effective dissemination of new knowledge.

Develop and implement personal knowledge to enable the effective delivery of quality care to children and young people, and their families/carers

Demonstrate a range of clinical interventions, procedures and practices which are evidence based and relevant to the clinical area
