Your new role
You will be responsible for performing skilled carpentry and joinery tasks to maintain, repair, and install wooden structures and fittings in various settings, such as residential,mercial, or industrial properties. Below is a list of typical responsibilities of a Maintenance Joiner:
1. Carpentry Repairs: Carry out repairs to wooden structures, including doors, windows, frames, staircases, and flooring, ensuring they are functional and safe.
2. Installation of Fittings: Install and fit wooden fixtures such as cabinets, shelves, skirting boards, architraves, and partitions according to specifications.
3. Maintenance and Upkeep: Perform routine maintenance on wooden structures and fittings to prevent deterioration, including sanding, varnishing, painting, or sealing.
4. Fabrication of Custom Pieces: Construct bespoke wooden items, such as furniture, shelving units, or frames, to meet specific requirements of the site or client.
5. Inspection and Assessment: Inspect buildings and structures to identify carpentry-related issues, assess damage, and determine necessary repairs or replacements.
6. Reading and Interpreting Plans: Work from technical drawings, blueprints, or specifications to accurately carry out joinery tasks.
7. Material Selection and Preparation: Select appropriate timber and materials, and prepare them by cutting, shaping, and assembling to meet project needs.
8. Tool and Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and safely operate hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery, ensuring they are in good working condition.
9. Collaboration with Other Trades: Work alongside other tradespeople, such as electricians, plumbers, or painters, toplete projects efficiently and to a high standard.
10. Site Preparation and Clean up: Prepare work areas by setting up scaffolding or protective coverings and cleaning up debris and tools afterpleting tasks.
11. Customer Interaction:municate with clients or property managers to understand their requirements, provide updates on work progress, and ensure satisfaction withpleted work.
12. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on tasks for reporting or invoicing purposes.
13. Emergency Repairs: Respond to emergency call-outs for urgent carpentry repairs, such as fixing broken doors, windows, or structuralponents.

What you'll need to succeed
