The role
As a Security Manager, you’ll play a vital role in safeguarding Babcock personnel, contractors and country‑based staff while they work overseas. Working closely with the Principal Security Specialist and Contract Manager, you’ll ensure the right protective measures are in place and that operational sites remain safe, compliant and secure.
Day-to-day, you’ll be:
1. Ensuring effective security measures are implemented and maintained across your main site and any additional sites you may support.
2. Responding to security‑related issues and working proactively to keep personnel safe.
3. Providing professional, high‑quality security support, adapting flexibly to changing operational needs.
4. Assisting with site security administration, documentation and incident reporting.
5. Supporting colleagues, covering tasks as needed, and responding appropriately to emergencies.
This is a full time, permanent role delivered on a 6-week European deployment / 2-week off-rotation basis.
Essential experience of the Security Manager:
6. Strong administrative and IT skills, including confidence using Teams, SharePoint, Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.
7. A proactive and calm approach to managing security situations.
8. Strong people skills and a customer‑focused mindset.
9. A genuine interest in developing security experience within defence‑related environments.
Qualifications for the Security Manager:
Full, valid UK driving licence.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
