Job Title: Senior DevOps Engineer
Salary: £72,702 - £80,780
Location: Halifax
Hours: Full-time – 35 hours per week
Working Pattern: Hybrid - at least two days per week / 40% at office.
Overview
CIO Enabling Services provides Test Environment Services to deliver and continuously improve test environment engineering through innovation and automation, driving excellence in test environments and test data provisioning. The team supports the whole of LBG with expertise in Major Programmes, delivering end‑to‑end testing environments using both physical and cloud‑based solutions, and researching virtualisation and self‑service to accelerate provisioning of environments for fast‑paced change.
What you’ll do
* Assess current Programme/Project ways of working, evaluating development, deployment, and testing processes, speed to market, bottlenecks, potential automation opportunities, and current CI/CD pipelines.
* Provide advice and direction for process improvements and implementation of best practices: understand current DevOps best practices, produce a report detailing improvement areas, estimate time and effort for remedial work, detail required applications/infrastructure, and ensure recommended work aligns with best practices.
* Assist with tooling recommendations, infrastructure, installations, or configurations for Programmes/Projects: acquire infrastructure, design and set up a DevOps intervention with CI/CD pipelines, collaborate with QA to build automated tests and integrate them into a CI pipeline, and document and upskill the team for self‑sufficiency.
What you’ll need
* Proficiency with GIT / GitHub Enterprise.
* Experience with Jenkins Pipelines, including writing Jenkinsfiles.
* Experience with UrbanCode Deploy and/or Chef.
* Experience with Nexus Repository.
* Experience with Selenium.
* Strong scripting skills.
* Experience with SonarQube.
* Cloud Associate accreditation or a clear path toward obtaining it.
