About the Role
Harkaye Core Talent is partnering with a respected national law firm to recruit a dedicated Court of Protection Solicitor (Property & Affairs). This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate and empathetic lawyer to join a team renowned for its expertise in handling complex property and financial matters for clients lacking capacity.
You will manage your own caseload of Property & Affairs files, acting for vulnerable individuals, deputies, and attorneys, while working alongside a collaborative and experienced team. The role requires excellent client care skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive matters with professionalism and empathy.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage a caseload of Property & Affairs matters, including deputyship applications, administration of financial affairs, and associated Court of Protection proceedings.
* Prepare and review financial reports, annual accounts, and applications to the Court.
* Liaise with clients, families, local authorities, and other professionals in a compassionate and efficient manner.
* Supervise junior team members and contribute to the team’s continued growth and success.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory and professional standards.
About You:
* Qualified Solicitor with demonstrable experience in Court of Protection Property & Affairs work.
* Experience handling your own caseload with minimal supervision.
* Strong understanding of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and related practice directions.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
* A collaborative team player with a client-centred approach.
* Grade A or Grade B solicitor under the Guideline Hourly Rates preferred.
