Your new role
A leading organisation is seeking a Procurement Assistant to support the delivery of its Procurement Strategy and Annual Procurement Plan. Reporting to a Category Manager within the Procurement Team, you will play a key role in supporting sourcing activity, supplier management and contract implementation across a defined category area.You will support online tender activity through an e-sourcing platform, including event set-up, scoring criteria and evaluations, along with initial reviews of PQQs/Conditions of Participation and post-tender contract implementation. You will also be responsible for maintaining the Approved Vendor List (AVL), managing supplier vetting andpliance, maintaining supplier data, and supporting ad hoc sourcing and transactional procurement activities as required.Key responsibilities
1. Supplier vetting,pliance and ongoing supplier record maintenance.
2. Coordinating supplier audits and working with stakeholders to close any identified gaps.
3. Supporting contract management activities, including in-term contract extensions and price review calculations.
4. Coordinating supplier performance processes, including meeting minute-taking and follow-up actions.
5. Maintaining the Approved Vendor List (AVL) and procurement catalogues.
6. Supporting the implementation of new contracts into the business.
7. Deliveringpliant and time-bound sourcing activity, including:Spend analysis and preparation.Creating and managing e-sourcing events using templates and agreed scoring methodologies.Preparing sourcing documentation from approved templates.Supporting peer review of sourcing events prior to launch.Leading on lower-value or lower-risk sourcing exercises.
8. Reviewing and approving POernance information and analysing trends.
9. Acting as the first point of contact for suppliers and internal stakeholders, enabling effective use of procurement systems and resolving contract-related queries.
10. Providing advice and guidance to ensure ongoing policy and legislativepliance.
11. Maintaining accurate records, documentation and contract files in line withernance requirements.
12. Supporting wider Procurement Team initiatives and providing cross-category cover as required.
What you’ll need to succeed
13. Relevant experience in procurement, purchasing, contracting or supplier management.
14. A basic understanding ofmercial and contract principles.
15. Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability tomunicate confidently at all levels.
16. Excellent written and verbalmunication skills.
17. Strong analytical capability with high attention to detail.
18. Highly organised, proactive and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
19. Ability to managepeting priorities while meeting SLAs and deadlines.
20. A collaborative approach with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
21. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel and Teams.
22. Experience using procurement systems such as SAP and e-sourcing platforms, or the ability to learn quickly.
