Job Purpose
An internship vacancy has arisen within the Manufacturing Engineering Group for a Digital Vehicle & Assembly Test Environment Intern.
Key Responsibilities
To enable the Plant to achieve the required assembly and whole vehicle quality standards the responsibilities of this Digital Vehicle & Assembly Test Environment Technician position include: -
* Understanding Engineering Bill of Materials for testing, programming & configuration of vehicles.
* Reviewing Product Engineering releases, of vehicle components and systems, to quantify the impact on Plant Digital Facilities and Tooling.
* Define best practice testing methodology of manufacturing, vehicle electrical and electronic systems.
* Analysis of vehicle Electrical & Electronic failure modes, identifying solutions, suggesting and implementing fix actions, i.e. writing and implementing new processes and process instructions.
* Working understanding of best practices with regards to vehicle sub-assembly and whole vehicle testing within the manufacturing and assembly environment.
* Support department Engineers in their current day-to-day work tasks.
* Understanding of basic programming languages; C++, Python etc.
* Understanding of Safe Working Practices with regards to vehicle sub-assemblies and whole vehicle testing.
Experience Required
* Studying towards, or holding a degree.
* Working knowledge of electro-mechanical, hydraulic, and electronic vehicle systems.
* Practical 'hands on skills' to become conversant with tractor vehicle operations & processes.
* Computer literacy to an excellent standard.
* Good communication skills.
* Must be a self-starter & flexible.
* Able to work on own initiative and as part of team.
* Full clean Driving Licence ideally or a Provisional Driving Licence.
This role starts as a one-year fixed term contract, with the potential to extend for a second year.
