Hays are working with Chartered Accountants to recruit a Management Accountant to join their team in Shrewsbury
Your new role
1. Monthly management accounts: Prepare accurate, timely management accounts packs (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, variance analysis,mentary) in line with client timetables.
2. Budgeting & forecasting
3. Month‑end close: Oversee postings, accruals/prepayments, fixed assets, stock, WIP, intepany, balance sheet recs; resolve reconciling items promptly.
4. VAT &pliance support
5. Client liaison: Act as the trusted finance contact; present results and insights to owners/boards; manage deliverables and expectations.
6. Year‑end & audit support: Prepare year‑end packs, lead schedules, audit support, and liaison with internal/external auditors.
7. Ad‑hoc analysis: Pricing, margin and customer profitability analysis, cost‑saving initiatives, cash management strategies
What you'll need to succeed
8. Qualified, part qualified or qualified by experience, with or without practice experience
9. Good systems experience as well as a meticulous and deadline-focused approach.
10. You should be client‑facing, credible speaking to clients and stakeholders and able to challenge constructively and build trust quickly.
