An opportunity has arisen for a motivated and experienced RN to undertake the role of Ward Matron at Caterham Dene Hospital. A secondment position for 6 months would also be considered if the offered candidate wanted to explore this. This post provides an excellent and exciting opportunity to develop your leadership and operational management skills. Full support, mentoring and appropriate training will be provided to enhance this opportunity.
Part time (minimum of 22.5 hours), full time and 12 month secondment opportunities will be considered. Shifts are 7.5 hour between 7.00-19.30.

Main duties of the job
The role involves the day to day running of our 28 bedded Intermediate Care Ward. You will undertake a Senior Nursing role within the multidisciplinary team to promote the health, wellbeing and rehabilitation of patients. You will ensure that patients receive a high standard of patient centred nursing care that is safe, effective and evidence based.

Job responsibilities
The post holder is responsible for the leadership and day-to-day clinical and operational management of Caterham Dene Ward.
The post holder will lead, support and provide clinical advice and expertise to the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe and effective management of patients.
They will be responsible for the delivery and continuing development of an effective and appropriate service that targets resources effectively, ensuring timely discharge and capacity within the beds. The post holder will also be accountable for maintaining CQC standards and meeting key performance indicators.
The post holder will be required to promote the health, wellbeing and rehabilitation of patients by being highly visible on the ward and supporting junior staff to ensure that patients receive a high standard of nursing care.
