The Company
This global brand experience agency is known for shaping how some of the world’s biggest consumer brands show up — on pack, in store, and everywhere in between. With a strong heritage in packaging and adaptive design, the agency blends creative thinking with production precision, helping clients stay brand-consistent across every touchpoint.
The York studio is a key part of the UK creative network — a tight-knit team working on some of the world's greatest FMCG brands. Here, Designers get stuck into everything from packaging for festive limited editions to key visuals, POS, and in-store theatre. It’s a place where big-brand impact meets small-team agility — and where collaboration, craft, and versatility are core to the way things get done.
The Role
The agency is looking for a talented mid-weight Packaging Designer to join the York studio for a 12-month maternity cover. Working alongside a friendly, supportive team of designers and artworkers, the successful candidate will help deliver brand-led packaging and retail assets across a wide range of consumer categories.
Around 70% of the role is focused on packaging, but the variety is one of the best things about it — from adapting key visuals and creating POS to developing graphics for instore and producing visuals for pitches and presentations. The work sits in the sweet spot between creative and adaptive — offering scope to stretch creatively while staying true to brand guidelines.
Projects move fast, the client roster is iconic, and no two days are quite the same. Expect to work on seasonal campaigns, flavour variants, new launches, and everything in between — always with the support of a highly engaged and collaborative team.
The Person
This role would suit an experienced mid-weight designer with around 5–6 years in a creative agency, ideally with solid FMCG packaging experience. They should have a portfolio that demonstrates adaptive design as well as concept development — showing how they've helped bring campaigns to life across multiple formats.
A working knowledge of packaging production, cutter guides, and brand architecture is essential. Confidence in the Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) is expected, and PowerPoint skills are a welcome bonus.
What matters most is versatility. The right candidate will be someone who’s quick to pick up brand knowledge, understands how to work within and stretch brand guidelines, and is happy to roll up their sleeves and get involved — from pitch visuals to POS mockups. A collaborative mindset and solid communication skills are key.
Whether coming from a smaller agency looking to step into bigger brands, or a freelancer seeking stability, this is a great opportunity to make your mark with an agency that values both craft and culture.
