Trainee Traffic Installation Technician Gloucestershire, United Kingdom (On-site)
Telent is seeking a Trainee Traffic Installation Technician to join our Traffic Signals / Traffic Lighting team in Gloucestershire. Due to growth, we are expanding our Traffic team. This is a field-based role; applicants must hold a full UK driving license and be willing to travel across the region and work in all weather conditions.
If you want to develop hands-on field experience, have some electrical installation knowledge or experience, or hold an Electrical Engineering diploma/certificate, and are seeking to start a career in this field, we encourage you to apply. Join our Engineering Team at Telent to work on complex, critical infrastructure projects that keep the nation connected and protected 24/7.
Responsibilities:
Working closely with experienced Traffic Engineers to install, maintain, and test Traffic Signals / Traffic Lighting units and electrical components in Gloucestershire.
Training includes classroom, on-the-job, desk-based, and online learning, aiming to achieve NVQ Level 2 and 3 in Highways Electrical Installations (LANTRA), along with sector certifications like ECS and NHSS Chapter 8.
Who you are:
Interested in field-based engineering with some exposure to electrical installations, or eager to start a new career. Prior experience or relevant college courses are a plus, but enthusiastic beginners are encouraged to apply.
Key requirements:
* Motivated and eager to learn through practical and online training
* Experience or qualification in electrical installations or related field
* Problem-solving skills and ability to interpret fault finding instructions
* Full UK Driving Licence
* Good communication skills and computer literacy
* Willing to undertake Drugs & Alcohol testing for compliance
