Drive the future of our hybrid identity platform as a Senior Active Directory Infrastructure Engineer leading innovation, security, and next‑level performance.
We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Active Directory Infrastructure Engineer to take ownership of our hybrid identity environment and drive it forward. In this role, you will lead the design, optimisation, and support of both our on‑premises Active Directory infrastructure and our Entra ID environment, ensuring they operate securely, reliably, and efficiently. You will play a key part in shaping the future of our directory services, bringing a proactive and solutions‑focused mindset to identify improvements, enhance performance, and deliver initiatives from initial concept through to successful completion.
This is a hands-on technical position where your deep expertise in Active Directory, Entra ID, and related identity technologies will be essential. You will troubleshoot complex issues across multi‑forest environments, support domain migrations and decommissioning efforts, and maintain the health and stability of our hybrid directory landscape. Collaboration is central to the role, and you will work closely with teams across IT to ensure seamless integration between identity services and business‑critical systems. You will also serve as a trusted advisor and mentor, providing guidance to junior engineers and contributing to the continuous growth of the team.
The position offers the opportunity to work with modern technologies in a dynamic hybrid environment while influencing long-term strategy and best practices around identity and access. If you thrive in roles where autonomy, technical depth, and continuous improvement are key, this position provides a platform to make a significant and lasting impact.
What you’ll Bring:
1. Active Directory expertise: Deep experience designing, managing, and supporting complex on‑premises AD environments across multiple forests.
2. Hybrid identity knowledge: Strong understanding of Entra ID and integration between on‑premises and cloud directory services.
3. Advanced troubleshooting: Skilled in diagnosing and resolving issues related to AD replication, trusts, Group Policy, LDAP, Kerberos, DNS, and AD security.
4. Migration experience: Hands‑on background with domain migrations, object transfers, and decommissioning legacy domains.
5. Security best practices: Proven ability to implement and maintain policies that protect directory services and identity infrastructure.
6. Performance monitoring: Ability to monitor, analyse, and optimise domain controller and directory service performance.
7. Scripting skills: Proficiency with PowerShell for automation, configuration, and administrative tasks.
8. Collaboration: Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross‑functional IT teams.
9. Leadership: Experience mentoring junior engineers and guiding peers on identity‑related topics.
10. Incident response: Willingness to participate in a 24×7 on‑call rotation and perform off‑hours changes.
11. Windows Server knowledge: Advanced experience with Windows Server 2016–2025 in both physical and virtual environments.
12. IAM familiarity: Understanding of related solutions such as Microsoft Identity Manager and PKI infrastructure.
13. Networking fundamentals: Basic network troubleshooting proficiency.
14. Advanced Excel: Strong analytical abilities using Excel for reporting and data handling.
15. Optional tooling knowledge: Experience with Google SecOps, WSUS, or PRTG monitoring is beneficial.
