Clad-IT is a well‑established industrial and commercial roofing and cladding contractor, delivering high‑quality building envelope solutions across large‑scale commercial and industrial projects. We work across both new build and refurbishment schemes throughout the UK.
Due to continued growth, we’re looking to appoint an experienced Cladding & Roofing Design Manager to join our expanding team.

Working within a busy design and technical department, you’ll take a lead role in coordinating, checking, and approving drawings, details, and material take‑offs produced by the design team. Although this is primarily a managerial and technical oversight role, you should have the ability to produce drawings when required or step in to support draughtsmen during peak periods.
The position would suit an experienced designer or former draughtsman looking to progress into a more senior, managerial role.
You’ll work across a range of building envelope systems, including:
* Composite systems, such as Kingspan Warranty Systems, TATA, Euroclad
* Built‑up twin‑skin roofing and wall systems
Key Responsibilities
* Co‑ordinate, check, and approve drawings and fabrication details
* Produce detailed working drawings when required
* Interpret architectural, structural, and steelwork drawings, raising design queries where needed
* Attend client design meetings (in person and via Teams)
* Liaise with architects, consultants, system manufacturers, and clients throughout the design process
* Work closely with site teams to resolve technical queries and support installation
* Produce or review material take‑offs, schedules, and assist with procurement
* Conduct site surveys and measurements where needed
* Support the wider design and project delivery function as the business grows
About You
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in a roofing, cladding, or building envelope design role
* Strong technical understanding of composite, standing seam, and twin‑skin built‑up systems
* Ideal for a former draughtsman or technical designer wanting to move into a more senior, managerial position
* Competent user of AutoCAD or similar CAD packages
* Comfortable liaising with clients, architects, engineers, and site teams
* Able to interpret architectural and structural drawings confidently
* Proactive, organised, and solutions‑focused
* Ambitious and keen to develop into a senior role
Benefits
* Competitive salary based on experience
* Company pension as standard
* 20 days annual leave plus bank holidays
* Additional paid Christmas shutdown (approx. 2 weeks)
