GSL Education are seeking an enthusiastic Teacher of Music to join a forward-thinking secondary school in Nottinghamshire. This is an excellent opportunity for an engaging educator who is committed to delivering dynamic music lessons and fostering a love for performance, composition, and musical appreciation among students.
About the Role:
As a Teacher of Music, you will deliver exciting and well-structured lessons across Key Stages, ensuring that students develop their musical talents and theoretical understanding. You will support learners in exploring a variety of musical genres, instruments, and composition techniques while promoting creativity and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities:
* Teach Music across Key Stages using a range of engaging and practical activities.
* Plan and deliver lessons that support musical skills, theory, performance, and appreciation.
* Encourage students to participate in ensembles, school performances, and extracurricular music opportunities.
* Assess student progress and provide meaningful feedback to support improvement.
* Maintain a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages creativity and confidence.
* Contribute to departmental planning, curriculum development, and wider school events.
* Use effective behaviour management strategies to promote a focused learning environment.
Ideal Candidate:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
* Strong musical background with the ability to teach a range of skills including performance, theory, and composition.
* Ability to inspire students and build their confidence through engaging teaching.
* Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
* Experience teaching in UK secondary schools is desirable but not essential.
* Enhanced DBS registered on the update service or willingness to apply through GSL Education.
