The Opportunity
We’re working with a leading consultancy delivering enterprise-scale digital transformation programmes, currently seeking an experienced Technical Architect to lead the design and delivery of secure, scalable cloud solutions.
This is a high-impact contract role focused on shaping Azure-based architectures within a regulated environment — ideal for someone who combines deep technical expertise with strong stakeholder engagement.

The Role
As a Technical Architect, you will take ownership of the end-to-end architecture across Azure-hosted platforms. You’ll define technical direction, ensure alignment with enterprise strategy, and guide engineering teams in delivering robust, future-proof solutions.
You’ll act as the technical authority across the programme — balancing innovation, security, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
* Define and own architecture blueprints for Azure-based solutions
* Establish and enforce coding, design, and configuration standards
* Collaborate with engineering, QA, and delivery teams to ensure alignment
* Lead the design and implementation of CI/CD pipelines
* Ensure solutions meet security, compliance, and governance standards
* Document architectural decisions and designs (e.g. via SharePoint)
* Conduct architecture reviews and ensure adherence to best practices
* Provide hands‑on guidance for complex technical challenges
* Identify opportunities for system modernisation and optimisation
Required Experience
* Proven background in microservices architecture and API design
* Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, and automation
* Solid understanding of security frameworks and compliance standards
* Strong communication and documentation skills
* Ability to operate in complex, enterprise‑scale environments
* Exposure to DevOps / DevSecOps practices
* Experience within regulated industries (e.g. public sector, finance)
* Knowledge of performance tuning and monitoring tools
* Experience with hybrid cloud and on‑premise integrations
