Overview
Personal Care Assistant role to support our neurodiverse 7-year-old son who also has communication support needs. The position is in the Kirkintilloch area. The main focus is risk assessment and ensuring safety, with initial support in the home and then in social activities within the community (with a parent present).
Our son enjoys construction toys and police cars, drawing and doing puzzles. The role includes some support with personal care (mainly prompting).
Responsibilities
* Assess risk due to reduced awareness of dangers and help keep the child safe at home and during community activities.
* Provide support within the home and subsequently to access social activities in the community (with a parent present).
* Encourage and engage with activities the child likes (construction toys, police cars, drawing, puzzles).
* Provide some support with personal care (mainly prompting).
Details
1 afternoon (4 hours) per week, plus an additional 8 hours during school holidays. There is flexibility around the days/hours worked; this can be discussed at interview. If you’d like to discuss, please call 0141 776 2219.
Pay: £13.60 per hour.
Qualifications & Preferences
* Must be physically fit.
* Previous support experience is desirable but not essential.
* Driving licence preferable (car provided by employer).
* PVG Scheme membership required by the successful applicant.
