For further information about working for us visit: https://buckinghamshire.pagetiger.com/jmbzlv/1 About the role As the Service Director Infrastructure and Major Projects, you will be accountable for the performance and delivery of the Housing Infrastructure Fund (HIF) Programme and other major projects across the area. You will support the Corporate Director for Planning, Growth & Sustainability in achieving the Council's strategic aims. Your responsibilities will include promoting council values, fostering a customer-focused culture, and building strong relationships with partners. You will lead the Infrastructure capital delivery program, monitor project progress, ensure timely and accurate reporting, and manage project budgets and timelines. This role requires acting with integrity, staying informed on trends and legislation, challenging the status quo, and managing budgets effectively. About you We are looking for a candidate with a relevant degree or professional qualification, substantial experience of leading and managing a strategic planning/programme management or related service area in a large public sector organisation. Proven track record of successfully developing and delivering an effective assurance and governance function. You must have extensive knowledge of national policy, regulatory environments, and financial legislation, along with experience in partnership working and delivering major organisational change. Essential personal attributes include political awareness, diplomatic skills, emotional intelligence, creativity, and the ability to work under pressure while maintaining personal integrity. You will be accountable for the performance, budget, and outcome delivery of Infrastructure and major projects, with a significant budget responsibility.
