We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Legal Secretary to join our dynamic Legal Aid team. The ideal candidate will possess strong organisational and time management skills, along with a solid understanding of administrative processes within a legal environment. This role is essential in providing support to our legal professionals, ensuring that all documentation and correspondence is handled efficiently and accurately.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide comprehensive administrative support to solicitors and legal teams.
* Prepare, proofread, and format legal documents, correspondence, and reports.
* Manage calendars, schedule appointments, and coordinate meetings.
* Conduct audio typing of legal documents and transcriptions as required.
* Maintain an organised filing system for electronic documents.
* Assist with the preparation of case files and documentation for court proceedings.
* Liaise with clients, courts, and other legal professionals in a professional manner.
* Utilise Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook effectively for daily tasks.
* Ensure compliance with confidentiality protocols and data protection regulations.
We are looking to hear from people with:
* Experience as a Legal Secretary or in a similar administrative role within a law firm or legal department.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
* Excellent time management skills to meet deadlines effectively.
* Proficiency in audio typing.
* Familiarity with office procedures and IT systems relevant to the legal field.
* Competence in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) is essential.
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all work produced.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
