Overview
BMT is building a state of the art Digital Innovation and Simulation Centre (DISC). We are looking for a talented individual to be responsible for the management of the DISC. You will be responsible for the availability and use of the DISC and oversight of the services provided through the DISC. These services are predominantly centred around maritime simulators, but the Centre will provide wider resources and environment to support digital innovation and related digital-focused services.
Responsibilities
* Preparing the DISC for customers when they hire it, customer hosting, facilitation and on-call support.
* Support to consultancy projects requiring use of simulators and other DISC facilities
* Holding of records related to the design and architecture of the DISC systems, and operational processes
* Safe and secure operation of DISC facilities, including risk assessments and responses to identified risks
* Maintenance of DISC suite to ensure safety, availability and asset protection
* Support to DISC activities for wider BMT business development, VIP and staff familiarisation visits
* Subject Matter Expert lead on simulator installation projects for customers
* Sales and marketing work to increase DISC utilisation
Candidate profile / Requirements
We are seeking someone with high levels of leadership and management experience both internally business facing and externally customer facing. You actively support, inform and guide the business in achieving its objectives, either through capability or domain expertise. You should have consultancy experience and be able to operate across a multifunctional, complex environment.
Ideally we are looking for someone with a depth of experience working in a simulation environment in both Maritime and Defence markets. We are looking for someone with experience in one or more key capability areas. (e.g. simulation, marine navigation, hydrodynamics, synthetic environment modelling, autonomy, predictive maintenance, facility management, hydraulics). You should have the ability to lead the development and definition of simulator-based services using the facilities and capabilities within BMT. We are looking for someone with proven customer experience serving them to the highest standard, establishing and developing sustainable business relationships based on mutual confidence, trust and respect. You should be able to communicate and explain the approach to be taken to address the customer problem in a straightforward, understandable and non-technical manner. Missing skills?
