What will the apprentice be doing on site
As a Fencing Installer Apprentice, you will learn key skills in fencing installation, including the use of specialised tools and equipment and gain practical experience in both residential and commercial fencing projects.
Working on large construction schemes for an impressive client base, including national house builders and large main contractors you will develop expertise in the construction industry while working as part of a skilled and experienced team.
The day to day role with involve:
- Reading fence drawings and plans, and measure and lay out
new fence lines.
- Conducting site inspections and work out materials needed to
complete each installation.
- Levelling the ground for new fenced areas
- Using hand tools or mechanical diggers to dig post holes and
trenches
- Positioning posts and fixing them to a base
- Cutting panels to sizing and fix them to the posts
- Installing gates
- Checking for gaps and other weaknesses in the fencing and
correcting these, if needed
- Applying finishes like paint, staining and weatherproofing
Monday to Friday 7am to 4pm.
45 hours per week
£288.00 per week
Are there restrictions
Candidates must live in Chelmsford due to the early start time.
Candidates will need to hold a valid CSCS Card or be willing to undertake the necessary test immediately.
A full UK Driving Licence is required as sites are spread across a wide area and it won't always be possible to car-share.
Applicants must be aged 18+ due to the working time directive.

Qualifications Required
GCSE grade 4/C in maths and English or level 2 functional skills.
