Overview
As a Maintenance Technician at Tesco across Oban and surrounding areas, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring our stores remain a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for customers and colleagues. You’ll be part of a skilled team responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across a range of systems and equipment, helping to keep our operations running smoothly. This is a hands-on role that requires a proactive mindset, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering high standards. As a Maintenance Technician your specific responsibilities will encompass a wide range of tasks. To thrive in this role, you will need to:
Responsibilities
* Confidently interact with external contractors: coordinating repairs seamlessly.
* Work collaboratively with the team: be a great colleague who understands the importance of quality service.
* Sustain high energy levels: juggling tasks while maintaining efficiency.
* Assist the management team: keeping our stores operating smoothly by maintaining equipment and facilities.
* Minimize customer disruption: coordinating repairs with minimal impact on our valued customers.
Responsibilities will include:
* Ensuring all Tesco sites are a safe and functioning environment for customers and colleagues.
* Following the planned work schedule to achieve first time fix, improving efficiency, and effectiveness.
* Working closely with team members, sharing best practice and knowledge.
* General day to day store and property maintenance.
* Using mobile devices; phone and tablet, to drive the best approach in work completion and updates.
* Representing the Tesco brand by demonstrating our core values (serving our customers, communities and planet a little better every day), maintaining a positive attitude & taking pride in wearing the Tesco uniform.
* Attending local and national meetings, providing valuable input and feedback.
* Supporting a diverse and inclusive culture.
As a vital part of our Maintenance team, you will demonstrate enthusiasm for maintaining high standards. With previous experience in a maintenance, engineering, or construction environment, you will be digitally confident using a tablet to view daily work schedules and manage emails.
Operational Skills
* ONC or equivalent
* Full driving license
* Health & Safety awareness
* Communication & Collaboration
* Office 365 knowledge
* Completed all technical training upskilling modules relevant to abilities.
